The Guji zone is a well-known area in the south of Ethiopia, located between the areas of Borena and Bale. The region grows some of the highest coffee in Ethiopia. It provides a typical profile (floral, herbal and citrus) reminiscent of the best Yirgacheffes. The region exports coffees that are certified as either Sidamo or Yirgacheffe. This natural Guji does not necessarily express the typical notes of Sidamos (yellow fruit and apricot) but rather the floral profile of a Yirgacheffe. Guji coffees are some of the most sought after amongst speciality coffee buyers.
