Some properties of Chia bia

Little or no taste
The seeds are to tiny that they are easy to add to all the f oods you already enjoy and although some detect a slight nuttiness, most people agree they have no taste.
Long Shelf Life
Chia has a chelf life of up to 3 years as the natural antioxidants found in Chia prevent the precious nutrients from going rancid and keep the seeds fresh.
Hydrophilic
Chia absorbs up to 10 times its weight in water. As well as keeping you hydrated for longer it helps to keep you feeling fuller for longer too.
Natural antioxidants
Most other seeds that have similar OMEGA 3 lefels to Chia completely lack natural antioxidants but Chia is full of them!
Easily absorbed into the body
Chia has a soft outer shell which means that the body can easily break down the shell and readily absorb its nutrients.
No need to grind
Chia's soft shell means that the seeds don't need to be ground down like flax. When we eat Chia seeds whole our bodies can digest its soft shell and readily absorb its nutrients.
Slow carbohydrate to blood sugar conversion rate.
Chia gels in the stomach forming a physical barrier slowing down the conversion of carbohydrates into sugars. This diminishes the sugar peaks and troughs that we can all experience, and helps people with type 2 diabetes to manage their condition naturally.

Increased Energy Levels

In Christopher McDougall's book Born To Run he has this to say about Chia ;
"If you had to pick just one desert island food, you couldn't do much better than Chia, at least if you were interested in building muscle, lowering cholesterol, and reducing your risk of heart disease, after a few months on the Chia diet, you could probably swim home"
